Ali Larijani, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, published a post on the platform "X" outlining key instances where the United States violated the memorandum of understanding signed last June, which consists of 14 articles.

In his post, he cited violations including the disruption of Iranian arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz, ongoing threats of further military attacks, assaults on southern regions, the re-imposition of oil sanctions, and continued aggression by the Zionist entity.

Qalibaf, who led Iran's delegation in the Swiss negotiations that resulted in the memorandum, brokered through Qatari and Pakistani mediation, stated: "The era of bullying and extortion has ended, and you will not achieve any results. We are not among those who retreat or concede."

On Wednesday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps announced it had carried out an "initial response" to American attacks targeting sites and facilities within the country.

The Revolutionary Guard's statement detailed that naval and aerospace forces conducted a joint operation using missiles and drones, striking 85 locations including American military installations at Salman Port, the Fifth Naval Region in Bahrain, and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. Additionally, they shot down an enemy MQ-9 drone that was attempting to interfere with the operation.

Earlier on the same day, the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced via the platform "X" that it had targeted Iranian sites comprising air defense systems, radars, and over 60 small boats used by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

CENTCOM's separate statement described the strikes as a response to attacks against three commercial vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
