President Masoud Pezeshkian described a two-and-a-half-hour meeting with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, praising his humility and human approach.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Thursday disclosed details of his recent meeting with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not been seen in public since his selection in March. The encounter lasted approximately two and a half hours, according to Pezeshkian, who spoke to the Tasnim news agency.
Pezeshkian said the meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, with the most striking aspect being the leader's humble demeanor and deep human approach. He described this as fostering a dialogue environment built on trust, calm, and direct communication.
The president did not reveal when the meeting occurred. Khamenei has been absent from media appearances since being chosen as supreme leader on March 8, following the assassination of his father, Ali Khamenei, during the initial Israeli-American strikes on Tehran on February 28.
Officials in Tehran and press reports have stated that Mojtaba Khamenei sustained injuries. Western media outlets described the wounds as serious, causing facial deformities and severe leg injuries that could lead to amputation.
Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of strengthening harmony, trust, and understanding within the state's administrative levels. He noted that the top official's humility and closeness to the people could serve as a model for public administration, based on responsibility, proximity to citizens, and genuine listening to their problems.
The president added that this approach reflects the leadership tradition of the Islamic Republic, which is founded on simplicity, humility, and direct communication with various officials. He described the meeting's atmosphere as marked by mutual respect and friendliness, making the dialogue more open, transparent, and close among those present.
