Iranian President Masoud Bezhikian is scheduled to visit Pakistan on Tuesday to discuss economic ties and mediation efforts between Tehran and Washington.

Masoud Bezhikian, the President of Iran, is set to visit Pakistan on Tuesday, with the visit expected to last for one day, according to Habib Abbasi, the Director General of Public Relations at the Iranian Presidency Office.
Abbasi told local media that the purpose of the visit is to follow up on the outcomes of previous meetings between the two countries and to explore ways to strengthen and expand economic and trade relations between Iran and Pakistan. The visit will also include discussions on shared interests and mutual concerns.
In addition, the trip will express Tehran's appreciation for Islamabad's mediation efforts between Iran and the United States. Abbasi emphasized the significance of Pakistan's role in supporting dialogue and de-escalation processes.
This marks the second visit by President Bezhikian to Pakistan since assuming office, with his first visit to Islamabad occurring on August 2, 2025.
Pakistan, alongside Qatar, is engaged in mediation efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive final agreement to end the 39-day conflict that began on February 28.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the inaugural meeting of the High Committee under the "Islamabad Understanding" framework concluded successfully in Switzerland. He noted that the parties reached an agreement on a roadmap targeting a final deal between Iran and the United States within 60 days.
Sharif explained in a post on the platform "X" that the meeting also resulted in the establishment of a High Committee to provide political oversight of the negotiation process, as well as the initiation of additional rounds of technical talks among the involved parties.
The Prime Minister welcomed the commitment of both Tehran and Washington to continue constructive engagement in the dialogue process. He also expressed gratitude to the countries supporting the negotiations, particularly Qatar and Switzerland, for their facilitation roles.
Shehbaz Sharif praised the contribution of Pakistan's Army Chief, General Asim Munir, in backing the mediation efforts, along with Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, acknowledging their roles in the success of the diplomatic initiatives.
