Iraq Reports Foiling Attacks Targeting Neighboring Countries
Iraq's official committee announced the prevention of attacks aimed at neighboring states, emphasizing national sovereignty and control over weapons.

The head of Iraq's "Weapon Control" committee announced on Saturday that operations targeting neighboring countries had been thwarted.
Lieutenant General Qais Al-Mohamadi stated that Iraq would not permit its territory to be used for attacks against any neighboring state.
Meanwhile, government spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi affirmed in televised remarks that Iraq's sovereignty, security, and the state's monopoly on weapons are priorities under Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi's administration. He emphasized that the significance of controlling weapons lies in preventing their manipulation for political purposes.
In contrast, the Al-Nujaba Movement, an armed Iraqi faction opposing the state's weapon control efforts, considers the current measures as targeting the "resistance weapons." The movement's executive council head, Nazem Al-Saeedi, claimed that the state's control over weapons is practically intended to dismantle the Popular Mobilization Forces.
