Israel Strikes Petrochemical Complex in Iran's Mahshahr Amid Rising Tensions
Iran confirms Israeli airstrike on Mahshahr petrochemical plant as both sides exchange fire despite US calls for calm.
Iranian official media reported the evacuation of the special economic zone for petrochemicals in Mahshahr, located in the country's southwest.
On Monday, Iran acknowledged that Israel targeted a petrochemical factory in the city of Bandar Mahshahr in southwestern Iran, while both parties continued exchanging fire despite US President Donald Trump's call for de-escalation.
Local media on Telegram stated, "The enemy carried out an air attack on the Karun Petrochemical Company in Mahshahr."
Meanwhile, the Mehr news agency cited the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as declaring readiness for all possibilities, including large-scale operations across all fronts.
The agency also reported that air defenses had been activated in several areas around Kermanshah to confront hostile targets.
