Israeli Forces Advance Again in Western Daraa Countryside, Southern Syria
Israeli military forces conducted a new incursion into western Daraa countryside, southern Syria, amid ongoing accusations of violating the 1974 disengagement agreement.

On Wednesday, Israeli army units advanced once more into the western countryside of Daraa province in southern Syria, continuing a series of Israeli military maneuvers in the area amid Syrian allegations of breaches of the 1974 disengagement agreement.
Local Syrian media reported that an Israeli force penetrated along the Wadi Al-Riqad road in western Daraa, deploying a tank and two military vehicles. The force fired shots toward the valley before withdrawing from the location.
This incursion occurred one day after Israeli forces established a temporary checkpoint in the village of Koudna in southern Quneitra countryside, according to the Quneitra Media Directorate affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Information.
The directorate stated that the Israeli patrol stopped several passersby, subjected them to searches, and then left the area.
Recent Israeli Military Actions in Southern Syria
On Tuesday, the same region witnessed another Israeli incursion involving five military vehicles carrying soldiers entering the northern neighborhood of Al-Rafid town in southern Quneitra countryside. The forces conducted searches inside several homes and interrogated some residents before withdrawing without making any arrests, the same source reported.
Earlier, on Monday, Israeli troops advanced toward Saraya Jamla in the Yarmouk Basin area of Daraa countryside as part of repeated military activities in southern Syria.
The "Sajal" center, which documents Israeli military operations in Syria, recorded 32 Israeli violations in southern Syria between July 1 and July 7.
Nature of Israeli Operations and Syrian Response
These operations include incursions, establishment of temporary checkpoints, and searches in residential areas. Damascus maintains that these actions violate the 1974 disengagement agreement.
Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shar'a condemned the ongoing Israeli violations in southern Syria, stating they undermine the security and stability of the region.
Al-Shar'a made these remarks during a joint press conference held on Tuesday with French President Emmanuel Macron. He emphasized Syria's position demanding Israel's adherence to the 1974 disengagement agreement and a full withdrawal from areas entered after December 8, 2024.
Escalating Tensions in Southern Syrian Provinces
Southern Syrian provinces, particularly Daraa and Quneitra, have experienced rising tensions in recent months amid continued Israeli military movements near the demilitarized zone. Syrian and international calls persist for respect of existing security arrangements.
Additionally, the United Arab Emirates condemned the bombings in Damascus and affirmed its solidarity with Syria.
