Keir Starmer is reportedly preparing to announce his resignation as UK Prime Minister on Monday amid mounting internal party pressure.

According to The Observer on Saturday, Keir Starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, is expected to resign from his position on Monday, having set a timeframe for his departure.
The newspaper reported that Starmer is preparing to establish a schedule for leaving the Prime Minister's residence this week, coinciding with Andy Burnham's successful return to Parliament.
Starmer has concluded that continuing in his role is no longer feasible after consultations with government ministers, advisers, donors, and union leaders.
The Observer noted that Starmer is discussing the matter with his wife at their rural residence, Chequers, before making a final decision regarding stepping down.
Senior figures within the Labour Party anticipate a clear statement concerning Starmer's future by Monday, the paper added.
Separately, The Guardian reported that government ministers informed Starmer loyalists he faces the "risk of being forced to leave office" by his party if he does not set a departure date before the weekend ends.
The Guardian quoted a government minister, who had not previously called for Starmer's resignation, saying, "His departure has become inevitable," according to the source.
Additionally, a Member of Parliament expressed the belief that approximately 200 Labour MPs are prepared, if necessary, to sign nomination papers for Andy Burnham to challenge Starmer, although his supporters hope for a decisive victory.
Starmer's wife has been described as his "first line of defense" in maintaining his position as Prime Minister, with some emphasizing that "you cannot withdraw" from the role.
