Niger: Military Mobilization Ahead of Large-Scale Operation Against Armed Groups
A Nigerien military source revealed that transitional authorities have launched a comprehensive mobilization in preparation for a large-scale operation against armed groups.

A Nigerien military source told "Erm News" that the transitional authorities have launched a comprehensive mobilization in preparation for a military operation aimed at halting the advance of armed groups, which have achieved significant territorial gains in recent months.
The source, who requested anonymity, added that the head of the military council, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, is seeking to cleanse the country entirely through a ground operation supported by air cover, amid threats from the "Jama'at Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin" (JNIM) group linked to Al-Qaeda.
Although the source did not reveal a specific date for the operation, military reinforcements arrived in the city of Tillabéri, which recently witnessed deadly attacks carried out by rebel and extremist groups.
