Trump Affirms Confidence in War Secretary, Hints at 'Limited Changes' to His Administration
US President Donald Trump expressed confidence in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth despite speculation about his future following Republican midterm losses, while hinting at limited changes to his administration.

US President Donald Trump affirmed his confidence in Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth in an interview with CBS, despite speculation regarding his future in the role following the Republicans' loss in the midterm elections and rising calls for his departure.
Trump noted in statements to CBS that Hegseth was part of US military operations, without attributing their success solely to him.
He added that he intends to make limited changes to his government, without disclosing the names of officials who might be included in these changes.
Despite Trump's remarks to journalists, Reuters previously reported sources saying that the possibility of Trump appointing a replacement for the current Defense Secretary remains likely, as Republicans continue to assess their losses.
A senior advisor to the US president said, "Hegseth may be on the verge of losing his position due to the war."
He added: "Someone will be held responsible for this, and it is obvious that this person will not be Trump."
