Russia, Israel Maintain Military Coordination Mechanism in Syria

Russian Ambassador to Tel Aviv Anatoly Viktorov disclosed the existence of a formal mechanism between the Russian and Israeli militaries aimed at preventing unintended incidents in Syria.

Viktorov, speaking to Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency, stated that Russia and Israel continue dialogue on Syria, including military matters, with the primary objective of exchanging information to avoid harm to either armed force.

The ambassador specified that communications concerning Syria take place through military channels, and added that these issues remain under active discussion.
