Russian Authorities Report 6 Dead, 40 Injured in Drone Strike on Gelendzhik Resort

Russian authorities reported that six people, including three children, were killed and around 40 others injured following a drone strike targeting the Black Sea resort town of Gelendzhik. The announcement was made on Monday.

Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar region, stated via Telegram that the attack targeted civilians and described the incident as a “tragedy.” Seventeen of the injured were transported to hospital, and a specialized medical team was dispatched to the site of the explosion in the tourist village of Arkhipo-Osipovka.

Civilian casualties across Crimea and southern Russia

Separately, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, accused Ukraine of resorting to “terrorism.” Kyiv has not issued an immediate comment.

Escalating cross-border strikes

The strike occurred amid intensifying reciprocal attacks between the two sides. Ukraine has increased long-range strikes inside Russian territory over recent months.
