Russian Security Foils Smuggling of 500 kg Cocaine Hidden in Frozen Tuna from Ecuador
Russian Federal Security Service seized 500 kilograms of cocaine concealed within frozen tuna shipped from Ecuador to Saint Petersburg.

The Russian Federal Security Service announced the seizure of 500 kilograms of cocaine found inside frozen tuna carcasses stored in a shipping container arriving from Ecuador to Saint Petersburg.
According to a statement from the Federal Security Service, "During operational inspections at the container terminal of Petrolesport Company in the Big Port of Saint Petersburg, at least 500 kilograms of narcotics were discovered and confiscated. The drugs were concealed within legally imported, un-eviscerated frozen tuna fish carcasses inside a shipping container from Ecuador."
The agency added that during the investigation, a Russian citizen was arrested. Authorities also confiscated digital devices containing cryptocurrency wallets valued at $613,000, 13 luxury watches worth over $1.3 million, and five cars estimated to be worth no less than 130 million rubles, all found in his possession during the inspection.
