The "Washington Post" revealed that the White House considers Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, to be the greatest hope for reaching a settlement with Iran, and the only person capable of building consensus within Tehran regarding negotiations.

The newspaper quoted a US official saying that US Vice President JD Vance informed Rezaei of the priority of American and Iranian national interests in negotiations, and his readiness to meet personally to end the war, amid American concerns about diminishing chances for a settlement.

According to the newspaper, Vance stressed the necessity for Iran to provide representatives authorized to negotiate on nuclear issues.

Iranian media reported that Tehran received a message from Vance but has not yet responded, amid efforts aimed at reviving peace negotiations between the United States and Iran.

Tasnim News Agency stated that "Iran received the message but has not yet responded," while Fars News Agency published a similar report citing an "informed source."

Iranian media outlets emphasized that Tehran remains committed to what it describes as its "seven conditions" in dealing with the United States, affirming that "any position contrary to this framework is unacceptable."

The "Wall Street Journal" had previously revealed that the US Vice President contacted a senior Iranian security official in an attempt to revive peace talks, which would spare Tehran a new US attack.

The newspaper reported that Vance sent a message to Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, in a step that the newspaper indicated, according to one of its sources, came under the direction of President Donald Trump.

The newspaper clarified that the message, along with subsequent talks between US and Iranian officials, focused on establishing a potential framework for negotiations rather than delving into specific details of a peace proposal.
