US President Donald Trump declared the killing of Hector Rustenford Guerrero Flores, aka Ninyo Guerrero, leader of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua.
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday the elimination of Hector Rustenford Guerrero Flores, known as "Ninyo Guerrero" (the Child Warrior), the leader of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua.
Trump posted on his platform Truth Social that, under his direction, the US Southern Command carried out a swift and lethal strike to eliminate Ninyo Guerrero, describing him as the notorious leader of Tren de Aragua, which he called one of the deadliest terrorist organizations on the planet.
He added that during his election campaign, he pledged to expel such "monsters" from the United States and deliver justice to the families of their victims. He stated that with this operation, the US military avenged those victims and their loved ones.
Trump noted that the operation was closely coordinated with allies in Venezuela with whom the US has an excellent working relationship. He said as a result, the terrorists of Tren de Aragua no longer have a safe haven in Venezuela or anywhere else, without specifying the location of the operation.
Accompanying his post was a short video showing an aerial shot of a green-roofed building surrounded by trees, followed by an explosion that produced a dense smoke cloud, symbolizing the strike.
In 2025, a New York court charged Hector Rustenford Guerrero Flores, aged 42, with issuing orders, directing, and facilitating terrorist acts and violence in the United States. He has been in hiding since then.
The gang was formed in 2014 in the Venezuelan state of the same name and, according to intelligence reports, expanded to eight countries in South America.
The Tren de Aragua gang, designated by the US as a terrorist organization, is accused of human trafficking, assassinations, kidnappings, theft, extortion, and drug trafficking.
