Trump Golf Club Arrest: Man with Loaded Pistol, 16 Rounds Detained Near RNC Venue

U.S. law enforcement officials announced early Wednesday morning that they had apprehended an individual found walking near Donald Trump’s private golf course in California.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated the suspect was detained at the Trump golf facility after being observed taking photographs and video recordings. According to an official statement, he appeared to be surveilling security-related planning activities on the premises.

During a search of the suspect’s vehicle, deputies seized a loaded pistol and an additional magazine containing ammunition. Authorities also recovered 16 rounds of live ammunition from his possession.

Search of Suspect’s Residence

Federal Bureau of Investigation counterterrorism units conducted a search of the man’s residence in Downey, a suburb of Los Angeles.

At the home, investigators discovered a rifle, a handgun, a bulletproof vest, multiple ammunition magazines, loose ammunition, two radios, and notebooks containing “concerning statements.”

U.S. Secret Service personnel released a photograph identified by journalists as depicting the arrested individual. Media reports described him as a 38-year-old former U.S. Army service member named Janine John Taylor, who goes by the nickname “Johnny.”

Fox News aired video footage showing President Trump arriving in California to attend an event hosted by the Republican National Committee. The gathering is scheduled to occur at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes.
