Trump Announces U.S. Sanctions Lifted on Syria and Possible Hezbollah Cooperation
President Donald Trump declared the lifting of U.S. sanctions on Syria and suggested potential collaboration on Hezbollah during a NATO summit meeting.

During a meeting with Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa at the NATO summit in Turkey on Wednesday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the removal of sanctions on Syria, describing the decision as a significant boost for the country.
Trump also indicated that the United States might remove Syria from its list of state sponsors of terrorism, stating that the situation in Syria has become very stable.
He hinted at the possibility of cooperation between the U.S. and Syria regarding Hezbollah, saying, "Syria can help us on the issue of Hezbollah."
Previously, Trump had proposed referring the "issue of dealing with Hezbollah" to Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa, whom he viewed as capable of achieving what Israel had failed to accomplish. However, Damascus rejected any intention to intervene in Lebanese affairs in response to this suggestion.
On Tuesday, Trump told reporters alongside Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, "Thanks to President Erdoğan, we have a very good relationship with the new leader of Syria. He has done an amazing job over the past year and a half, managing to unite the entire country."
