Trump Calls Norway 'Dirty' and Rejects Its Migrants Over Nobel Snub
President Donald Trump labeled Norway a "dirty country" and stated that Norwegian migrants are not welcome in the US, citing his failure to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

US President Donald Trump escalated his verbal attack on Norway, describing it as a "dirty country" and announcing that Norwegian immigrants are not welcome in the United States because he was not awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
Trump made these remarks on Sunday during a campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, ahead of next week's midterm congressional elections.
Trump attributed recent unrest in France to immigration and said he would welcome immigrants from several countries, excluding Norway, stating: "Because I didn't get the Nobel Prize... so I don't want anyone from Norway."
No indications emerged that the Trump administration is adopting any new official policy regarding immigrants from Norway.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide told the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) on Monday: "Trump fully understands that the Nobel Committee is independent. We reminded them of this... and that is the current situation."
The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs declined to provide further comments.
Trump said: "Norway has actually become a dirty country," using a description he had previously applied to Haiti, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen.
