US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, stating he will not show further patience and that Tehran must reach an agreement with Washington. In an interview with Fox News, Trump acknowledged that Iranian leaders are "rational" even as he demanded a nuclear deal, saying, "I won't be patient any longer... they have to reach an agreement."

Trump addressed the fate of Iran's enriched uranium stockpile, stating, "The enriched Iranian uranium can be buried, but I prefer to get it." He added that seizing the material is "more about public relations than anything else," warning that the alternative to taking control of the nuclear materials is "bombing the sites again and completely destroying them."

Talks with Xi in Beijing

The remarks came during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on the sidelines of Trump's visit to China, where he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. Trump described the meeting as having "gone very well."

Trump revealed that China wants to purchase oil from the United States and that Xi agreed to buy 200 aircraft from American manufacturer Boeing. "Among the things he agreed to is placing an order for 200 planes. That's huge for Boeing," Trump said. He added, "This means creating a very large number of jobs. Boeing wanted to sell 150 planes, but they got 200." No official confirmation or announcement from the Chinese side was immediately issued.

Beijing's potential role

During the interview, Trump suggested that "President Xi may have the ability to influence Iran," hinting at a possible Chinese role in the Iranian nuclear file. Trump's visit to China included bilateral meetings and delegation-level talks, accompanied by a wide delegation of political advisers and representatives of US companies. Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg is part of the traveling delegation.
