Trump says Iran issue will end soon

Donald Trump said on Friday that the Iran issue will “end soon,” according to Reuters. Axios, citing a source close to Trump, said the U.S. president had raised the possibility of a “major final” military operation against Iran, followed by a declaration of victory and an end to the war.
The source said Trump had grown increasingly frustrated over the past few days as talks remained stalled and Tehran’s positions on them persisted. He said the negotiations were “extremely exhausting” and that drafts were being sent back and forth daily without significant progress.
Earlier, Iran’s Tasnim news agency reported, citing a source close to the negotiating team, that talks between Iran and the United States had made progress on some issues. The source said no agreement had been reached until all disputed matters were resolved.
Tasnim added that the Pakistani mediator was still exchanging issues between the two sides. The informed source also said the focus was now on the issue of “ending the war,” and that no other issue would be negotiated until that file was settled once and for all.
