The Media Office of Justice Minister Adel Nassar issued the following statement:

"Justice Minister Adel Nassar contacted the President of the Criminal Court in the North, Judge Rabih Al-Hassami, and the Appeal Prosecutor General in the North, Judge Hani Al-Hajjar, after the incident that occurred in the Criminal Court hall following the session dedicated to one of the files being reviewed by the said court, to ascertain its circumstances. He praised the readiness and speed of intervention by security forces, who controlled the situation without any delay and with the required courage.

Minister Nassar wishes to alert the public that this incident demonstrates the extent to which judges may be exposed to risks while performing their duties, and thus the necessity of securing and increasing the financial capabilities allocated to the justice sector to fortify it and improve its working conditions.

Accordingly, the Minister of Justice takes this opportunity to extend a greeting to the president and members of the Criminal Court in the North, to the Public Prosecution, and to all judges of Lebanon, who once again proved seriousness in work, self-restraint, and fulfillment of their duties despite risks and difficulties."
