On Saturday, former President Donald Trump issued a warning about what he described as a new threat to the identity of the United States from "fanatics and extremists" within the country.

Speaking at Mount Rushmore on the eve of the 250th anniversary of American independence, Trump stated that the American identity is facing a "renewed attack," asserting that "the communist threat has returned to our soil after a generation of victory in the Cold War."

He added that new arrivals to the United States embrace "communist ideas that completely contradict the American way of life and economic success."

Trump characterized the internal conflict as "not political over taxes and regulations, but a confrontation with communism, which represents a deadly threat to freedom."

He emphasized that the confrontation with communism constitutes "the real danger."

Trump accused the Democrats of planning, if they return to power, to implement changes that would "end the Republicans' chances of winning any upcoming elections."

He also stated that "no country in the world has contributed more good and positive contributions to humanity than the United States," affirming that the achievements of his country "are a unique exception and not the prevailing pattern worldwide."

Trump said his administration "resolved the confrontation with Venezuela in one day and delivered very harsh blows to Iran."

He added that "the Iranian side is strongly seeking a political settlement," noting that the United States gave Iran "a one-week grace period to halt operations to hold funeral ceremonies, out of kindness."
