Ukraine Targets Key Russian Oil Station Following Kyiv Assault
Ukraine launched a drone strike on a critical oil distribution station in Vladimir region after a major Russian attack on Kyiv.

The Ukrainian military announced on Sunday that it carried out a drone attack on a vital oil distribution and pumping station located in Russia's Vladimir region. This operation followed a large-scale assault on Kyiv the previous night.
According to a statement from the Ukrainian military command, the targeted facility serves as a crucial hub for pumping oil products to Moscow and its surrounding areas.
The statement further detailed that the station supplies fuel to major depots around Moscow as well as to Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo airports. Following the strike, a fire spread over approximately 800 square meters at the site.
Alexander Avdeyev, the governor of Vladimir region, posted on social media that the fire near the town of Kamyshkovo had been extinguished. His post, reported by the Interfax news agency, indicated the blaze affected infrastructure but did not specify any connection to the oil sector.
On the same day, Russia bombarded Kyiv and its surrounding areas with hundreds of drones and missiles in one of the most intense bombardments the city has experienced since the war began four years ago.
Russian forces launched a hypersonic missile of the "Oryxnik" model near Kyiv, which resulted in the deaths of two people in Kyiv and two others in nearby areas, with around 100 individuals injured, according to Ukrainian officials.
The Ukrainian authorities reported that dozens of residential buildings and numerous schools, mostly in central Kyiv, sustained damage due to the severe Russian shelling.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking on Telegram, emphasized the importance of ensuring that Russia faces consequences for its actions and urged Ukraine's allies to take action.
Zelensky stated, "Decisions are needed from the United States, Europe, and others."
European leaders condemned the attack on Kyiv, with the United Kingdom and Germany describing the use of the Oryxnik missile—a medium-range weapon capable of carrying nuclear warheads—as an escalation.
