US Issues Global Warning to Citizens Amid Rising Iran Tensions

The United States government issued a global alert on Tuesday, urging its citizens in the Middle East and around the world to maintain the highest level of vigilance amid concerns over possible Iranian attacks targeting American interests or nationals internationally.

The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs released a statement on the social media platform X under the headline "Global Alert," emphasizing stringent warnings for Americans located in the Middle East.

The bureau explained that the warning was prompted "due to escalating tensions in the Middle East, where the security environment remains complex and carries the potential for unexpected escalation."

It stressed that "Americans currently in the Middle East must exercise caution and maintain heightened awareness, preparing for possible flight cancellations, periodic airspace closures, and potential disruptions to travel."

The statement also advised U.S. citizens outside the Middle East to "reconsider travel plans to or through the region" in light of ongoing developments.

Washington warned its nationals about the "possibility of Iran and its allied groups targeting other American interests abroad, or locations associated with the United States and American citizens, following attacks on U.S. diplomatic facilities, including those situated outside the Middle East."

Additionally, a U.S. general has called for deploying ground forces in Iran and establishing a new negotiation team.
