US Navy Tightens Iran Maritime Blockade, CENTCOM Says
The US Navy's USS Abraham Lincoln has diverted 65 ships and disrupted 4 as part of the ongoing blockade on Iranian ports.

Sixty-five commercial vessels have been redirected and four more disrupted by the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier operating in the Arabian Sea, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced Tuesday, detailing the ongoing maritime blockade against Iran. The carrier, a key naval asset designated CVN 72, continues its mission in the region, which includes enforcing the American-imposed blockade, according to a statement posted on the social media platform X by CENTCOM.
The USS Abraham Lincoln is one of the most prominent US naval vessels deployed in the area, participating in aerial and maritime surveillance operations alongside destroyers and support ships within the American fleet active in the Arabian Sea and the Gulf.
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that the blockade on Iranian ports will remain in place until the two countries reach an agreement that ends the war in the Middle East.
The United States imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports and coastline on April 13, days after a ceasefire was declared.
