US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on Monday that there is a strong possibility of entering into "limited-time" negotiations concerning Iran's nuclear dossier.

Rubio added that concluding an agreement with Iran remains possible on Monday, warning Tehran that it must either reach a good deal or the US will have to address the matter differently.

Currently on an official visit to India, the US Secretary of State affirmed that Washington will give diplomacy every chance to succeed before beginning to explore alternative options.

Officials from both the US and Iran have indicated that leaders from the two countries are working on an emerging framework aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz, under which Iran would commit to eliminating its stock of highly enriched uranium.

Earlier on Sunday, Rubio launched a sharp attack on Iran, accusing it of spending millions of dollars supporting terrorism worldwide instead of improving the lives of its own people.

During a joint press conference with his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Rubio emphasized that this is why the Iranian people continuously take to the streets in protest and why their economy is in total collapse, as the regime does not invest in it.

Rubio dismissed reports suggesting that concessions would be granted to Iran in the upcoming agreement, calling the idea that the US president would approve a deal strengthening Iran's nuclear position "ridiculous," and stressed that such a scenario will simply not happen.

Meanwhile, some Republican senators have expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of a potential US-Iran agreement, even as former President Trump has doubled down on supporting his administration's negotiations aimed at ending the nearly three-month-long conflict.

Four days ahead of his birthday, a lively celebration took place in India in honor of Rubio's birthday.
