Putin Highlights Strategic Partnership with China
Prior to his trip to Beijing on May 19 and 20, Putin emphasized the stabilizing role of the strategic alliance between Moscow and Beijing on the global stage. He stressed that this "friendship" is not aimed against any third party, as reported by the Russian news outlet Russia.
Putin noted that relations between the two countries have reached an unprecedented level, grounded in the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness signed 25 years ago, which laid a solid foundation for a comprehensive partnership.
He stated, "Twenty-five years ago, Russia and China signed the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation, establishing a firm basis for strategic interaction and a comprehensive partnership," adding that "Russian-Chinese relations have reached an unprecedented level."
Putin further described the close Russian-Chinese strategic alliance as playing a stabilizing role worldwide. He highlighted the mutual confidence in the future of their relationship and their active collaboration across political, economic, and defense sectors, as well as efforts to expand cultural exchanges and deepen bilateral cooperation to promote comprehensive development in both countries.
