Yemenis Expose Houthi Losses Amid Widespread Mockery

Social media networks have exposed Houthi losses in recent hours, after Yemenis circulated posts mixed with mockery and anger toward the Houthis over the names and photos of several Houthi leaders and fighters killed in the past few days.

Yemeni activists confirmed the deaths of Houthi leaders Muhammad al-Muaid, Faris al-Muaid, Muhammad Omar al-Saqaf, Muhammad Yahya al-Ansari, and his son in Yemen's western coast, along with dozens of other names shared, with condolences exchanged among Houthis, funeral dates set, and burial arrangements made. According to Yemeni accounts, some were killed in airstrikes yesterday (Monday).

In recent hours, the Houthi militia acknowledged the death of Houthi commander Faez Ali Abdullah Naji al-Dabba, who held the rank of colonel, and nine others holding various ranks within what they call naval forces and coastal defense, plus several militants whose funerals took place in recent hours.

This occurred as supporters of the Houthis circulated images of several dead fighters, all of them from Saada, the terrorist militia’s stronghold.

On his Facebook account, the father of the slain Houthi fighter Basmah Hadi al-Arjy wrote: "Colonel once—wronged you alive and dead, my son."

Houthi Internal Conflicts and Clashes

Meanwhile, reliable Yemeni sources confirmed internal disputes among Houthi leadership over stolen funds, escalating to killings. They noted that fighters blocked the coastal road leading to the city of Al-Khokha, preventing Houthi vehicles from passing, protesting the killing of one of their comrades after he refused to hand over a vehicle he possessed to another Houthi group.

Witnesses said the fighters stopped several Houthi patrols, set fires in the middle of the road, demanded the surrender of those responsible for the Houthi fighter’s death, and threatened escalation if their demands were not met.

Houthi fighters from Saada carried out a killing of another fighter from Al-Hudaydah after he refused to hand over his car. According to witnesses, the man was executed in public view on a main road.

Dead and Injured in Houthi Rocket Explosion in Ibb

Meanwhile, a farm worker was killed and others injured today in a Houthi rocket explosion just seconds after it was launched from an area near the city of Ibb in Ibb Governorate.

Civilian sources reported that a Houthi rocket fired from the «Hawa» area in Bani Sareem District of Ibb Governorate landed in a farm in the village of «Bayt Shalwan» minutes after launch, resulting in the death of one worker, injuries to others, damage to the farm, and destruction of farm guards and agricultural equipment.

The incident has raised fears among locals, especially given the continued Houthi practice of launching rockets from populated villages.

UN Security Council Meeting

Amid the Houthi escalation in Bab al-Mandeb and threats to international navigation, the UN Security Council will hold an emergency session today (Tuesday) to discuss developments in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

Diplomatic sources said the meeting was initiated by France, Latvia, Greece, the United Kingdom, and Bahrain, following growing international concerns about the safety of maritime traffic in the Bab al-Mandeb and the Red Sea after Houthi threats against ships in the region.

Nearly 93,864 people displaced by the Houthis from the western coast are facing dire conditions after arriving in Aden and Lahj governorates. According to the International Organization for Migration, 18,840 people fled from Jabel Habashi District in Taiz alone, while 9,966 fled from Al-Ma’afir District in western Taiz.

16,464 people fled from Al-Madharib District, plus 3,000 from Tabaan District, along with displaced persons from southern Al-Hudaydah, Al-Mukha, and Dhobab Districts in western Taiz.
