On Wednesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had a conversation with American envoys Steve Whitkov and Jared Kushner to "reactivate diplomacy" in search of a resolution to the war with Russia.

Zelensky stated on the X platform, "It was a productive and important discussion about ways to revive diplomacy and advance the peace process. Peace is a necessity, a peace based on dignity, and Ukraine has always been ready for it," he said.

During the recent Group of Seven summit in France and the NATO summit in Turkey two weeks ago, U.S. President Donald Trump, who had sought to maintain relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin while criticizing both Moscow and Kyiv, expressed his willingness to provide greater support to Ukraine.

This month, Washington authorized Kyiv to produce Patriot air defense systems on its territory, although production is expected to take several months to begin.

Earlier this month, Washington advanced a bipartisan bill targeting countries importing Russian energy, paving the way for increased pressure on Moscow.
