Particle 6 reveals its first full-length film starring AI character Tilly Norwood, a comedy-drama set in a digital world called the "Tillyverse."

Particle 6 has unveiled its inaugural feature film starring the AI-generated character Tilly Norwood, titled Misaligned. The movie is described as a comedy-drama and a coming-of-age narrative intertwined with existential AI themes.
Misaligned takes place within the "Tillyverse," a digital realm located in the Cloud. The plot centers on Tilly’s character, who lacks a physical body or real-life experiences. The story progresses as a bot from the dark web urges her to transcend her programmed limits and explore human desires.
Eline van der Velden, CEO and founder of Particle 6, highlighted the collaborative effort of television, film, and AI experts on the project. She emphasized, “AI can support premium narrative filmmaking, but only with substantial amounts of human craft, skill, judgement and time. That’s not a limitation of the technology. That’s the point.”
Since Tilly Norwood’s debut in late 2025, the AI character has sparked criticism from various entertainment figures. Melissa Barrera, known for her role in Scream, posted on Instagram urging actors to reconsider their representation, stating, “Hope all actors repped by the agent that does this, drop their a$$. How gross, read the room.” Similarly, actor Nicholas Alexander Chavez dismissed Norwood as “Not an actress nice try.”
Van der Velden clarified the purpose behind creating Tilly, asserting that she “is not a replacement for a human being, but a creative work – a piece of art.” Despite this, prominent actors continued to voice their unease. Emily Blunt remarked, “Good Lord, we’re screwed. That is really, really scary.”
Chris Pratt expressed a more critical view, stating, “I heard this Tilly Norwood thing, I think that’s all bulls***. I’ve never seen her in a movie. I don’t know who this b**** is.”
