EU imports of Russian liquefied natural gas rose 10% in June to 2.169 billion cubic meters compared to the previous year.

Data reveals that the European Union's imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) increased by 10% in June compared to the same month last year, reaching 2.169 billion cubic meters.
This information is based on an analysis of data from the company Bruegel.
In March, EU imports of Russian gas hit a record high of 2.459 billion cubic meters, the highest since Bruegel began tracking in 2019. Although imports declined after that peak, they remain elevated relative to previous years, despite the EU's ongoing plan to gradually phase out Russian gas supplies.
Conversely, the EU's LNG imports from Middle Eastern countries dropped to zero for the second consecutive month in June 2026, due to halted production in Qatar. During the first half of this year, supplies from the region decreased by more than half, falling 2.5 times to 2.601 billion cubic meters.
Imports of LNG from the Americas reached 5.78 billion cubic meters in June, marking a 24.6% decline. However, during the first half of the year, imports from the Americas slightly increased by 3.4%, totaling 44.786 billion cubic meters.
From Africa, EU LNG imports declined by 34.5% in June to 1.299 billion cubic meters and decreased by 23.1% in the first half of the year, amounting to 7.125 billion cubic meters.
