Achraf Hakimi Joins Elite African Champions in UEFA Champions League History
Achraf Hakimi became the second African player to lead the UEFA Champions League in assists after winning the title with Paris Saint-Germain.

Achraf Hakimi achieved a unique African milestone in the UEFA Champions League by winning the title with Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday, after a penalty shootout victory (4-3) against Arsenal following a 1-1 draw.
The Moroccan star finished the season as the joint top assist provider in the competition, delivering six assists alongside teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bayern Munich's Michael Olise, according to the French network "Stats Foot".
Hakimi's Place Among African Champions
Hakimi followed in the footsteps of Cameroonian legend Samuel Eto'o, who remains the only African player before him to have secured this distinction, having won the Champions League in the 2005/06 season with Barcelona.
Barcelona claimed the title that year by defeating Arsenal 2-1 in a thrilling final, where Arsenal initially took the lead—a scenario that mirrored the recent final against Paris Saint-Germain.
