Reports have revealed that Al Ahly's management, led by Vice President Yassin Mansour and Board Member Sayed Abdel Hafiz, is engaged in serious negotiations with a prominent player from Egypt's national team as part of preparations to sign him in the ongoing summer transfer period.

Multiple sources have linked Al Ahly with Haitham Hassan, a key figure at Spanish club Real Oviedo, whose sports nationality was recently changed by the Egyptian Football Association, convincing him to represent Egypt under coach Hossam Hassan.

Since joining the Pharaohs, Haitham Hassan has delivered impressive performances, prompting Al Ahly's management to prioritize him among their top targets for the summer transfer market.

The club aims to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season after a disappointing campaign in which Al Ahly failed to secure any titles and finished third in the Egyptian Premier League standings, resulting in qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

According to a report from the Egyptian "TEN" channel, Al Ahly has reached a preliminary agreement with Haitham Hassan to join the team following his participation with Egypt in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, especially given Real Oviedo’s relegation to Spain’s second division.

The proposed contract reportedly offers the player an annual salary starting at $700,000 in the first season, with an increase of $100,000 each subsequent season, reaching $1 million by the fourth year of the deal.

Egypt, under the leadership of Hossam Hassan, is preparing to compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled from June 11 to July 19.

The Egyptian national team will compete in Group G alongside Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand in the tournament’s first edition featuring 48 teams, hosted jointly by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
