Alex Scott Declines Bournemouth Contract Amid Interest from Premier League Clubs

Bournemouth have put forward an enhanced contract to retain midfielder Alex Scott, but the 22-year-old has declined the offer amid growing transfer interest from several Premier League clubs.

Manchester United have been tracking Scott throughout the summer transfer window, with Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool also reported to be observing developments regarding the player’s future.

The proposed contract included a release clause aimed at securing Scott’s commitment, but according to Sky Sports, the midfielder has refused the new terms.

Scott currently has two years remaining on the deal he signed after transferring from Bristol City to Bournemouth for £25 million in 2023.

Bournemouth have valued Scott at over £60 million, anticipating that the inflated market for midfielders this summer could lead to higher offers.

Recent Premier League transfers have seen Elliot Anderson move to Manchester City from Nottingham Forest for £116 million, while Morgan Rogers is poised to join Chelsea from Aston Villa for £117 million, which would become the highest transfer fee for an English player.

Scott played a significant role in Bournemouth’s campaign last season, which culminated in a top-six Premier League finish and qualification for European competition for the first time in the club’s history.

Although he has yet to make his England senior debut, Scott was called up to the national squad last November and participated in Thomas Tuchel’s pre-World Cup training camp in Florida.
