Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League’s player of the 2025-2026 season.

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League’s player of the 2025-2026 season, after the league announced the Portuguese player’s award.
Manchester United finished third in the Premier League table with 68 points. The league’s official account on X also posted its choice of Fernandes as the season’s player, alongside a video of his standout goals and assists for the Red Devils and the words: “An unforgettable season”.
Fernandes was also voted Manchester United’s player of the season by his teammates, underlining his status as one of the club’s leading figures in the modern era. The club said he also won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award, which is decided by supporters, for a fifth time in his career, a new record.
That puts Fernandes ahead of David de Gea and Cristiano Ronaldo, who had each won the award four times, and makes him only the second player in the club’s history to take it three times in a row after De Gea. The 31-year-old has also continued to post strong numbers this season, with eight goals and 19 assists in the Premier League, leaving him close to matching the record for the most assists in a single season.
He is viewed as the most influential player in Manchester United’s current era, and this campaign could end up being among the most productive of his professional career.
