Jesus joins Barcelona on £8.6m deal until June 2029

Gabriel Jesus has completed his transfer from Arsenal to Barcelona for £8.6 million (€10 million), agreeing to a contract that runs until June 2029.

The Brazilian forward joined Arsenal from Manchester City in a £45 million deal four years ago. He has scored 32 goals in 123 appearances for the club but made only three Premier League starts last season.

Jesus missed most of last year after sustaining a knee injury during an FA Cup tie against Manchester United in January 2025. The 29-year-old has earned 64 caps for Brazil but has not appeared for the national team since November 2023.

He had also attracted interest from Napoli ahead of the move. Sky Sports News has confirmed that Barcelona’s acquisition of Jesus is entirely separate from any ongoing pursuit of Julian Alvarez.

Arsenal’s Deadline Day activity

Arsenal confirmed the sale of midfielder Fabio Vieira to Hamburg on Deadline Day. The deal is valued at £7.7 million. Vieira originally joined the Gunners from Porto in June 2022 for up to £34 million.
