Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed Napoli accepted Fenerbahçe’s offer exceeding €6 million for 33-year-old Romelu Lukaku, who agreed to personal terms; a verbal agreement is in place pending document review.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Napoli has accepted Fenerbahçe’s latest offer for Romelu Lukaku, valued at more than €6 million. Lukaku himself has agreed to the personal terms of the proposed transfer to the Turkish club.
Romano clarified that the agreement between the two clubs remains oral at this stage. Both sides are now set to review the required documents and official paperwork ahead of finalizing the deal and issuing an official announcement.
The 33-year-old Lukaku helped Napoli secure the Italian league title in the 2024–2025 season. His involvement with the team declined in the following season, particularly due to injuries—he appeared in only five league matches.
With his standing diminished in Napoli’s squad amid other attacking options, the club has become open to his departure for approximately €10 million. However, his annual salary—estimated at €8 million—represents the most significant obstacle to completing the move.
If finalized, Lukaku’s transfer would make him the most recent major international name to join the Turkish league, following the Egyptian star’s recent move to Trabzonspor.
