Manchester City Reaches Agreement on Guardiola’s Successor
Manchester City has swiftly moved to appoint Enzo Maresca as the new head coach following Pep Guardiola’s announced departure at the end of the season, with the Italian coach agreeing to take over the reins.

Manchester City has acted quickly to secure a replacement for Pep Guardiola, who is expected to leave the club at the close of this season.
Reports indicate that Guardiola’s final match in charge will be against Aston Villa in the Premier League. Following this announcement, the club moved rapidly to identify his successor.
According to the British newspaper The Mirror, City has reached an agreement with Enzo Maresca, the former Chelsea coach, to take over managerial duties after Guardiola’s exit.
The Italian coach has reportedly accepted the offer to become Manchester City’s new head coach, marking a swift response from the club after Guardiola’s decision.
The Mirror also noted that Maresca left Stamford Bridge earlier this year amid ongoing discussions with Manchester City’s management about succeeding Guardiola.
In parallel, The Athletic confirmed that Maresca will lead Manchester City’s new project following Guardiola’s departure.
Prior to the FA Cup final on Saturday, Guardiola addressed questions about his future, stating during his pre-match press conference that he still had one year remaining on his contract when asked if the final would be his last match at Wembley as City’s coach.
When TNT Sports questioned him about his plans after the game, Guardiola responded briefly with "Rumors?" before quickly departing and wishing everyone a pleasant evening.
