Marcos Senesi’s recent transfer to Tottenham and his selection for Argentina’s World Cup squad have marked a significant period in his career, with his footballer girlfriend, Kelci-Rose Bowers, expressing strong support for these developments.

Senesi secured a move to Spurs after his contract with Bournemouth ended, and he was subsequently called up to replace the injured Leonardo Balerdi in Argentina’s World Cup team. These events mean that Senesi and Bowers, who previously played for Bournemouth’s women’s team, will spend more time apart.

Senesi, who joined Bournemouth from Feyenoord in 2022, reportedly began dating Bowers shortly after she signed for the Dorset club on loan in March 2024. Their relationship has grown alongside their respective football careers.

Following the confirmation of Senesi’s transfer to Tottenham, Bowers shared on her Instagram story: “A new chapter that I’m so happy to be part of.” After his World Cup call-up, she posted: “OMGGGGGGGGG, it’s happening,” accompanied by a heart emoji. She also documented the moment Senesi received the call to join the tournament in North America.

On X, Bowers recounted their recent holiday experiences: “We just came back from being in Miami on holiday. We came back to Ibiza just to enjoy a bit and relax, but this whole time neither of us have switched off. We are both aware of the situation so we’ve not been able to fully enjoy, do you know what I mean? And now, Marcos, he’s just been called up! Are you joking? This is literally what both of us have just been praying for, every day he’s been thinking about this. This is crazy.”

After Senesi ended the call, the couple embraced and celebrated together. Bowers maintains a successful career herself, balancing playing for Bournemouth in the Women’s National League with a modelling career. Earlier this month, it was announced that she had left Bournemouth, with her next club yet to be determined.

Bowers, signed to the modelling agency FORTE, shares her travels around Europe with her 225,000 Instagram followers. Last summer, she visited Senesi’s home country and regularly attends his matches, including away games.

When her schedule permits next season, Bowers plans to attend matches at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to support Senesi, who is part of Spurs’ rebuilding project under manager Roberto De Zerbi.

Senesi commented on his new club: “It’s a very special feeling to be a Tottenham Hotspur player. From the first moment, the club has shown why they want me and how much they want me to be a part of what they are building. It’s exciting and something I can’t wait to be involved in.”

De Zerbi led Tottenham to Premier League survival with an 11-point haul from seven matches but has emphasized the need for defensive improvements. Senesi joins Spurs alongside fellow free transfer Andy Robertson as part of this effort.
