Milan Agrees to Two-Year Deal with Former Man United Coach
Milan has reached a full agreement with ex-Manchester United coach Amorim for a two-year contract, with an option to extend through 2029.

Milan has finalized terms with former Manchester United head coach Amorim to lead the team, agreeing to a two-year contract extending until summer 2028, with an option to prolong it for an additional year until summer 2029.
Details of Amorim’s Contract with Milan
Sources including Sky Sport Italia and transfer expert Matteo Moretto report that Amorim’s contract will be signed officially within hours. The agreement reportedly includes a salary of €3.5 million per season, supplemented by bonuses tied to Champions League qualification.
Coaching Vacancy and Management Changes at Milan
Milan has been without a head coach since parting ways with Massimiliano Allegri immediately following the conclusion of the 2025-26 season. Alongside Allegri’s departure, the club also dismissed sporting director Igli Tare, technical director Geoffrey Moncada, and CEO Giorgio Furlani.
Previous Negotiations and Alternatives Considered
Initially, Milan engaged in talks with former Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick, who was expected to assume the role of sporting director. Reports indicated Rangnick intended to appoint Oliver Glasner as head coach. However, negotiations with Rangnick collapsed after he extended his contract with the Austria national team, ending Glasner’s prospects at Milan.
Other Candidates Before Finalizing Amorim
In the weeks leading up to the new season, Milan also considered Mauricio Pochettino and Arne Slot as potential head coaches. Ultimately, the club settled on Amorim to lead the team for the 2026-27 campaign.
