The opening five matches for every Premier League team in the 2026/27 season have been announced, starting with Arsenal hosting Coventry City on August 21.

The 2026/27 Premier League season is set to begin on Friday, 21 August, with Arsenal welcoming promoted Coventry City. The following day, Hull, also newly promoted, will face Manchester United.
Each of the 20 teams will play every other club twice during the season. For Arsenal, the defending champions, securing a strong start is crucial as they aim to retain their title. Meanwhile, the promoted teams are eager to gain early momentum to avoid a difficult campaign, possibly inspired by Sunderland’s past performance.
Arsenal’s initial fixtures present challenges, starting with a home game against Frank Lampard’s Coventry City, followed by an away match at Aston Villa and a home game against Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea. Their subsequent matches include away games at Sunderland and Brighton.
Coventry City will open their campaign at home against Hull, a match considered important, before traveling to Manchester City in their third fixture. They also face Brighton and Nottingham Forest in their early games.
Nottingham Forest will start with a home match against Leeds United, then travel to Liverpool, host Tottenham Hotspur at the City Ground, and visit Aston Villa. Coventry City will be their final opponent in a demanding opening period.
Hull City’s first month includes matches against Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Newcastle United. Fulham, entering the season without Marco Silva as manager, will face Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United in their opening five games.
Liverpool’s schedule begins with an away match at Newcastle United, followed by home games against Nottingham Forest, Ipswich Town, and Fulham, and an away trip to Bournemouth, now managed by Andoni Iraola. Bournemouth’s fixtures include away trips to Manchester City and Newcastle, alongside home matches against Everton and Sunderland.
Although a Manchester derby is scheduled for the weekend of 12 September, neither Manchester City nor Manchester United face particularly difficult starts to their seasons.
Kick-off times and dates beyond the opening weekend are subject to change depending on broadcasting arrangements.
