Security and logistical concerns have led French police to turn down a request from Paris Saint-Germain ahead of their match against Lens on Wednesday evening, a night that could decide the Ligue 1 title. The Parisian side needs only a draw in the postponed fixture from matchday 29 to secure a fifth consecutive league championship.

PSG's final league match is scheduled for Sunday against Paris FC at the latter's home ground. The club had requested permission to hold the title celebration at the Parc des Princes, which is a short walking distance from the venue of that final game.

According to French sports daily L'Equipe, local authorities rejected the proposal on both security and organizational grounds. The newspaper explained the reasoning: celebrating a Ligue 1 title would draw a large crowd of fans to the champion's stadium. The match is expected to end around 11 PM, which is considered too late. For security and organizational reasons at both stadiums, the request from the 2025 European champions was denied. Supporters in the capital will have to wait a bit longer.

PSG is also preparing for its second consecutive Champions League final, facing Arsenal on May 30. The French club won the European title for the first time in its history last season.
