Ninety-four consecutive Saudi Pro League matches — the longest top-flight scoring streak in world football history — now stands as Al-Nassr’s official record, confirmed following a 1-1 draw against Al-Khaleej. The equaliser arrived in the 72nd minute, scored by 27-year-old forward Abdullah Al-Hamdan.

How the streak began and evolved

The sequence commenced immediately after a 3-0 loss to Al-Hilal in December 2023. A 4-1 victory over Al-Riyadh then launched the uninterrupted run of league matches featuring at least one Al-Nassr goal.

No club has previously registered a longer stretch of consecutive top-flight league fixtures with a goal. The previous benchmark belonged to Argentina’s River Plate, which scored in 93 straight Primera División matches from 1936 to 1939.

Ronaldo’s role and career context

Cristiano Ronaldo has captained Al-Nassr throughout the entire 94-match streak. He joined the club in 2023 and has appeared in 113 Saudi Pro League matches, netting 105 goals.

Before this run, Ronaldo led Real Madrid to a 73-game scoring streak across all competitions between April 2016 and September 2017 — a record that applied to all official matches, not league-only fixtures.

The 41-year-old forward has indicated the ongoing 2026–27 season may be his final professional campaign. He currently has 979 official goals and is pursuing the milestone of 1,000.

League position after the draw

Al-Nassr failed to secure three points against Al-Khaleej, a side positioned just above the relegation zone. The draw left them third in the Saudi Pro League table, two points behind leaders Al-Hilal and one point behind second-placed Al-Ittihad.

Sports.ndtv.com reported the milestone, noting it as another landmark in Ronaldo’s career.
