Abdulaziz Masnoom, a 20-year-old international player from Yemen, was overcome with emotion after his team Al-Orouba fell short of qualifying for the Roshn League. His tearful farewell came immediately after the final whistle of the playoff semi-final, where Al-Orouba lost 1-2 to Al-Ula in a match that extended into extra time.

The defeat ended Al-Orouba’s hopes of securing the third promotion spot to the Roshn League, a setback that deeply affected Masnoom. During a post-match interview with Musaad Alsaqabi, the official broadcaster’s reporter, Masnoom struggled to hold back tears, revealing his heartfelt disappointment.

This poignant moment resonated strongly with Saudi football fans and social media users, who praised Masnoom’s loyalty and dedication to his club. Al-Orouba had been relegated to the first division in May 2025, and Masnoom’s visible sorrow was seen as a testament to his commitment to helping the team return to top-flight football.

Argentine player Guanca, who plays for Al-Ula, attempted to console Masnoom during the interview. Masnoom was unable to complete his remarks, and Guanca simply stated, “I have nothing to say, we will work to make it up to the fans and better things are ahead.”

Masnoom’s football journey began with Tadamon Hadramout before he transferred to Al-Orouba in Saudi Arabia in October 2024. He initially competed in the youth league before advancing to the senior team. He has also represented Yemen at various youth levels and made his debut for the senior national team in June 2024.
