Cristiano Ronaldo continued to write history, after approaching the 1000th goal in his professional career, following his leadership of Al-Nassr to win the Saudi league title in the final round of the season.

Ronaldo scored a brace in Al-Nassr's victory over Damac, granting his team the long-awaited league title, ending a long series of failures he experienced since joining the Saudi club, after losing 14 previous titles.

Despite scoring two goals in the match that raised his tally to 28 goals in the league this season, the Portuguese star lost the top scorer title of the competition, after having won it in the past two seasons.

At the level of his overall football career, Ronaldo reached goal number 973, becoming only 27 goals away from reaching the 1000 official goal barrier, an achievement that no player has ever accomplished in the history of football.

Ronaldo's goals during his journey were distributed between 450 goals with Real Madrid, 145 goals with Manchester United, 101 goals in the jersey of Juventus, 5 goals with Sporting Lisbon, in addition to 129 goals with Al-Nassr, along with 143 goals with the Portuguese national team.
