Lebanese security forces arrested two men at a Dahr al-Baydar checkpoint, seizing 203 grams of marijuana and 26 grams of cocaine from their passenger van.

At a Dahr al-Baydar checkpoint on May 7, 2026, security forces from the Internal Security Forces' General Directorate stopped a passenger van and arrested two individuals on drug trafficking suspicions. The driver, identified as T.M., a Lebanese national born in 1996, and a passenger, M.A., a Syrian national born in 1986, were taken into custody after a search of their vehicle.
During the inspection, officers discovered a total of 229 grams of narcotics in their possession. The haul consisted of 203 grams of marijuana and 26 grams of cocaine.
Both suspects, along with the seized drugs, have been handed over to the relevant authorities. Legal proceedings are underway under the direction of the competent judiciary, according to a statement from the Internal Security Forces' Public Relations Division.
