Finance Committee Begins Review of 2027 Budget with Finance Minister

The Finance and Budget Committee, chaired by MP Ibrahim Kanaan, held its first session dedicated to reviewing the draft budget for the year 2027 this morning before noon. The session was attended by Finance Minister Yassine Jaber, who presented an overview of the project and its general directions, as well as the assumptions underlying revenue, expenditure, and deficit estimates, along with the government's fiscal policy and reforms.

This session marks a preliminary step in the budget discussion process. The committee will subsequently begin examining the project's articles, allocations, and figures for ministries, administrations, and institutions in successive sessions, scrutinizing their realism and economic and social implications, particularly for citizens and productive sectors.
