Forest Ranger Caught Colluding with Firewood Traders!

Issued by the General Directorate of State Security - Department of Media, Guidance, and Public Relations:

"On September 1, 2026, following information received by the Kesrouan office of the Mount Lebanon regional directorate indicating collusion between the Kesrouan forest ranger and several firewood traders to facilitate obtaining transport permits in exchange for monetary payments, a patrol from the aforementioned office apprehended Mr. (Sh. S.), the Kesrouan forest ranger, based on an order issued by the Public Financial Prosecution under Judge Maher Zain. Investigation revealed that the forest ranger had accepted bribes from each of (A. J.), (M. J.), and (R. J.) in exchange for issuing firewood transport and purchase permits in Kesrouan, charged as a percentage. The detained individual admitted to receiving a monetary payment for every ton of firewood sold to the aforementioned individuals in return for facilitating their acquisition of required permits."

"Accordingly, the individual was detained on charges of abusing his position for personal gain. A search and investigation bulletin was issued against the individuals mentioned above, the case file was sealed, and the matter was referred to the competent judicial authority to continue legal proceedings. The detained person was later released on a financial bond."
