France to Request Emergency UN Security Council Meeting Amid Lebanon Tensions

Lebanese Foreign Minister Yusuf Reji revealed that his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot, informed him that France intends to request an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council. This move responds to the recent escalation of Israeli military operations in Lebanon, including expanded combat activities and evacuation orders.
Reji stated on "X" that Barrot reaffirmed France's solidarity with Lebanon and its firm commitment to fully respecting Lebanese sovereignty. He also highlighted Paris's support for direct negotiations as the sole path toward a lasting and sustainable resolution to the crisis.
Reji expressed his gratitude to France for this initiative and for its consistent support of Lebanon.
