Lebanese Cabinet Authorizes Washington Delegation to Negotiate with Israel
The Lebanese Cabinet unanimously approved a decision empowering its Washington delegation to conduct negotiations with Israel, subject to final Cabinet ratification.

The Lebanese Cabinet, including ministers from the Shiite political duo, unanimously endorsed a resolution titled "Taking Note," concerning the ongoing direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel in Washington.
The resolution, framed as "Taking Note," authorizes the Cabinet's assembled members to empower the negotiating delegation in Washington to "take necessary measures to achieve the desired outcome," while emphasizing that any resulting agreement from these talks requires Cabinet approval.
The document ratified by the Cabinet and signed by the Secretary-General of the Cabinet, Judge Mahmoud Makkiya, states that the Cabinet "has taken note of the authorization granted by the President of the Republic, in coordination with the Prime Minister, to the negotiating delegation in Washington (United States of America), assigning them to undertake necessary actions to reach the desired result under their supervision, noting that any agreement emerging from these negotiations is subject to Cabinet approval in accordance with Article 52 of the Constitution."
