Lebanese Finance Minister Praises Saudi Decision to Reopen Markets to Lebanese Exports
Lebanon's Finance Minister Yassin Jaber welcomed Saudi Arabia's decision to reopen its markets to Lebanese goods, highlighting the strong brotherly ties between the two countries.

Finance Minister Yassin Jaber received Saudi Arabia's new ambassador to Lebanon, Fahd Abdulrahman Al-Dossary, at the ministry office in a meeting aimed at mutual introduction. The discussion emphasized the longstanding brotherly relations between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia and explored ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
During the meeting, both parties underscored the crucial role Saudi Arabia plays in supporting Lebanon amid its current crisis and ongoing economic and financial challenges, reflecting the kingdom's consistent commitment to Lebanon's stability and prosperity. The conversation also covered the present economic conditions, the reforms the Lebanese government is implementing, and opportunities to expand economic and trade collaboration to serve mutual interests.
Following the meeting, Minister Jaber expressed his appreciation for Saudi Arabia's decision to reopen its markets to Lebanese exports. He described this move as significant support for Lebanon's economy and productive sectors, particularly for farmers and agricultural producers who rely heavily on Arab markets to sell their products.
Minister Jaber stated, "The kingdom’s decision to reopen its markets to Lebanese products reflects the depth of the brotherly relations between the two countries and the Saudi leadership’s keenness to stand by Lebanon during this critical period. This decision will have positive effects on the national economy and on Lebanese families dependent on the agricultural sector and related industries."
He further noted that the meeting addressed the measures taken by the Ministry of Finance, especially regarding customs and regulatory controls, aimed at strengthening oversight at border crossings, combating smuggling, and preventing violations that could harm trade exchange between the two countries. These efforts include applying the highest standards of control to ensure the safety and quality of Lebanese exports.
Minister Jaber reaffirmed Lebanon’s commitment to deepening its relations with Saudi Arabia and advancing economic and investment cooperation for the benefit of both brotherly peoples.
